Shamisa Debroey

Somewhere between colourful and simplicity, and between personal and outspoken, is the work of Shamisa Debroey (1989). She studied Graphic Novels and Illustration at Sint Lukas Brussels, where she graduated with her first graphic novel 'Wanderer'. Since then she has received the African Artist Award and the Aanstormend Talent prize from theAuteurs. As a freelance illustrator, Shamisa works for Apple, NRC Handelsblad, De Standaard, deBuren, Vooruit, and others. She also curates exhibitions for houses such as Passa Porta. Apart from her work as an artist, she is also active as an art organiser, doing productions for H30, Fameus and deSingel, among others.
