Adams Mensah
Adams Mensah is a multidisciplinary artist. As a filmmaker, theater maker, producer and actor he moves with his own voice and story in the broader (international) art landscape. He is the author of his own film and theater work, but he also contributes to the work of others in various roles. His work starts from an autobiographical perspective and brings lived stories in which various questions and reflections come up. He addresses topics such as migration, north-south, religion / spiritual science, bi-cultural roots, parent-child relationships, family, bureaucracy; ... and he talks to the other about hopes and dreams in different languages. Over the years you see a common thread in his work that talks about social care and involvement; adding missing voices and telling new stories. He has several films to his credit, including the documentaries 'Me a Belgian, my mother a Ghanaian' and 'Ghana For You' which was screened at national and international film festivals. Ghana For You was also broadcasted on Canvas. In addition to his film and theater work, Mensah also appeared as Ayo Buhari in the VTM soap opera 'Familie'. In recent years he has also been actively involved in the coaching of young / new makers and he is active in the (art) education field through guest lectures, workshops, artist talks, etc.
