Pim grew up in Mechelen with a foster family that later adopted her. Her biological mother struggled with a mental illness and, as a teenager, gave Pim a letter containing her biological father’s name and phone number. She also received a postcard from a man in Ghana. At the time, she paid no attention to it, content with the life she had.<\/p>\n
Now, as an adult, she is facing an identity crisis. She wants to understand where she comes from, how she ended up in a foster family, what happened to her parents, and why her father could not raise her himself. With only the old letter and the postcard as clues, she seeks help from a friend and filmmaker, Adams Mensah, who has Ghanaian roots and experience with similar stories.<\/p>\n
Their search begins with her adoptive parents in Mechelen and leads them to Ghana, where her father comes from.
